Codex Startup Business Planner is a skill for the Codex AI assistant that takes a startup, described by a URL, a repository, a pricing page, or just an idea, and turns it into a full business plan. The output covers market analysis, target customer definition, positioning, pricing strategy, an editable financial model, and a 90 day execution roadmap, all produced in one workflow. The skill defines an initial ideal customer profile, buying trigger, and anti customer profile, then researches current competitors and their public pricing pages. Where credible data exists, it builds bottom up estimates of total addressable market, serviceable addressable market, and a 24 month serviceable obtainable market. It compares different pricing models such as monthly, annual, usage based, one time, lifetime, freemium, and hybrid, and recommends specific plans, prices, limits, and upgrade points. It will refuse to recommend uncapped lifetime pricing when ongoing costs continue, since that kind of pricing can lose money over time. It also produces a deterministic plan readiness score and builds conservative, base, and optimistic 12 month scenarios. A key design choice is that the skill does not invent numbers. Market size, customer counts, revenue, competitor prices, and similar figures must come from the user, from public sources, or are explicitly marked as an assumption or unknown rather than presented as fact. The skill does not make any live changes to pricing, billing, checkout, subscriptions, or ad campaigns. Running it produces three files: a markdown business plan that opens directly in Codex, an Excel workbook with editable inputs, pricing, scenarios, a formula driven forecast, and unit economics, and a CSV file serving as the 90 day operating roadmap. It installs via npx or by manually copying the skill folder into the Codex skills directory, and Codex must be restarted after installing. The project is released under the MIT license.
