The patcher is applied by downloading and running a batch file or running a PowerShell command, and can be uninstalled by running an uninstall script or reinstalling Spotify from scratch. It works on Windows 7 through 11 and requires the official Spotify desktop version, the Microsoft Store version of Spotify is not compatible. A companion project called SpotX-Bash exists for macOS and Linux users. The README includes a disclaimer that SpotX modifies the official Spotify client and should be used at the user's own risk.
