Open Career Skills is a set of seven tools built for Claude Code and Claude Desktop that help people with job hunting: rewriting a CV, building interview stories, planning LinkedIn posts, writing cover letters, running mock interviews, searching for jobs, and pulling real achievements out of your git history. It comes from the team behind JobMentis, a paid career platform, and this repository is the free, open source version of the same prompt system. The main idea running through all seven skills is that they refuse to make things up about you. If a CV bullet is missing a number, the CV optimizer asks you for the real figure instead of guessing one. The story extractor does the same when it turns a rough braindump into a structured interview story. The evidence miner only proposes achievements that it can back up with an actual commit, pull request, or date from your git history, and any business impact numbers have to come from you rather than being inferred from the code. Beyond the individual skills, the project includes an apply pipeline that chains them together for a single job: it evaluates fit, drafts a cover letter and tailored CV from your real stories, and then runs everything past a separate reviewer subagent that checks every claim against your profile and flags anything unsourced for removal. After that, a mock interview skill can rehearse the gaps found during evaluation. To use the full workspace, you clone the repository, run the Claude Code /setup command to build a profile from your CV, and then use slash commands like /find-jobs, /apply, and /optimize-cv. Individual skills can also be copied into your own project, and five of the writing focused skills have plain paste-able versions for use in ChatGPT or other chat tools without any file based memory. Your personal data such as your CV and stories stays local and is excluded from version control even if you push your own fork publicly. The project is released under the MIT license.
