in plain english

Passatempo is a small collection of games built for the Light Phone III, a minimalist phone designed to limit distraction. Formerly called simply Games, it was renamed to Passatempo, a Portuguese and Italian word for pastime. It bundles eight classic games in one app: Snake, Brick Breaker, Pong, Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect Four, Sudoku, Word Search, and Dice. Each game has its own daily time or attempt limit that matches the phone's philosophy of quick, bounded use rather than endless scrolling. Snake and Brick Breaker share a 15 minute daily playtime budget with unlimited retries inside that window. Pong uses the same tap controls and time budget but has no fixed win condition, so the score just keeps climbing until time runs out against a deliberately beatable AI opponent. Tic-Tac-Toe and Connect Four are local two player games passed back and forth on one phone, each with a 20 minute daily budget. Sudoku allows three puzzles a day and remembers your progress if you exit partway through. Word Search pulls from nearly 1500 words across more than 50 categories and also limits and resumes puzzles the same way. Dice allows ten rolls a day. A settings screen lets you invert the colors for a dark or light look and show or hide individual games on the home screen. All progress and daily limits are stored only on the device itself. Installation is done by downloading the APK directly from this repository's Releases page rather than through Light's official app store approval process, and the app can be tracked for updates using a tool called Obtainium. Building the project yourself requires Android Studio and specific Android SDK platform versions, and the readme documents several changes made to the underlying Light SDK to remove a keyboard component the games do not need and to adjust the splash screen and app icon.
